CranioSacral Therapy is a noninvasive technique that helps detect and correct an imbalance within the rhythm of movement between the cranium and the sacrum.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch which is generally no greater than 5 grams – about the weight of a nickel – practitioners release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system.
Every day your body endures stresses and strains that it must work to compensate for. Unfortunately, these changes often cause body tissues to tighten and distort the craniosacral system. These distortions can then cause tension to form around the brain and spinal cord resulting in restrictions. This can create a barrier to the healthy performance of the central nervous system, and potentially every other system it interacts with. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body’s ability to self-correct, CranioSacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke and neurological impairment.
CranioSacral Therapy encourages the body’s natural mechanisms to improve the functioning of the brain and spinal cord, dissipate the negative effects of stress, and enhance general health and resistance to disease.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) relieves compression in the neck, head and back which can soothe pain and release stress and tension. CranioSacral Therapy can benefit almost anyone with a few exceptions and can help with:
Headaches and Migraines
Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain
Sleep Issues and Insomnia
Recurrent Ear Infections or Colic in Infants
Central Nervous System Disorders
Anxiety and Depression
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Our CranioSacral Therapist
Lee-Ann Gordon RN, MSN/PHN
Lee has cultivated a deep passion for holistic healing after experiencing the benefits through her daughter who struggled with serious illness for many years. As she witnessed her daughter’s healing journey she became fascinated by the power the body possesses to heal itself. Lee has always been interested in health and healing, she began her professional career as a nurse in a variety of care settings and later became a Reiki Master level practitioner. In 2019 she fell in love with Craniosacral Therapy and began training with the Upledger Institute for Craniosacral Therapy. Lee is excited to offer this whole body healing therapy as a compliment to the modalities offered at The Well. Craniosacral Therapy releases tension stored in the Central Nervous System which can alleviate symptoms such as pain, increase cognitive function and improve the body’s healing process. Lee has been trained in Craniosacral Therapy, Levels I & II, through the Upledger Institute.
